Mcfarlane Action Figures

Since it was founded in 1994 to produce high-quality action figures of Spawn, McFarlane Toys has built a reputation as one of the world’s best toy manufacturers. While it has a number of popular licenses such as The Simpsons and Lost, McFarlane is better known among collectors for its unconventional releases such as the Movie Maniacs line featuring characters from franchises such as Friday the 13th films and the Terminator movies. With their attention to detail, McFarlane action figures are understandably much-valued by collectors.
Army of Darkness was a popular cult movie directed by Sam Raimi, the last (so far) of his Evil Dead series. As part of its Movie Maniacs Series 4 line, McFarlane released an Evil Ash action figure, the wicked version of the movie’s lead character. Evil Ash stands six inches high and comes with an assortment of accessories, including swords and other weapons as well as a movie poster backdrop which you can use as a diorama to display the figure.
The company also produced McFarlane action figures based on the likenesses of rock stars such as Kiss and the Beatles. One of its most outré releases in this genre has to be its Ozzy Osbourne action figure, the first of two that McFarlane would produce. The 6” figure features a screaming, wide-eyed Ozzy, complete with crucifix and cape, and stands on a display base that features cathedral windows. Putting it on your display shelf is sure to scare off your other action figures.
Of course, McFarlane action figures were also released based on characters from Image Comics, which Todd McFarlane co-founded. While Wetworks the comic became better known among fans for the lateness of its shipping, Wetworks action figures suffered no such problem. One of the most popular figures in the Wetworks Series One release was cyborg team member Mother One. The gold painted figure stands six inches in height and comes with a variety of weapons accessories.
McFarlane also produced action figures based on video game licenses, such as the Halo video game franchise. The Tartarus figure from its Halo Series Seven release stands six inches tall and comes with weapons and shield accessories. For Metal Gear Solid 2, one of its earliest video game licenses, McFarlane released a 6” Raiden figure with multiple points of articulation and various weapons accessories, including an M4 assault rifle and Ninja swords, as well as Metal Gear Ray’s right arm.
