Halo is one of the best and most popular games of all time. Produced exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, it is one of the top selling games for the Xbox 360 gaming console. The award winning trilogy grew into an international entertainment phenomenon, with 14.5 million sales worldwide. Because of its evolution of design, beautiful storyline and breathtaking game play, it is no wonder why it has spawned so many die hard fans today. The game has spawned action figures, graphic novels, books, film adaptations, apparel and more.

The Halo action figures were first introduced to the market in 2003, produced by the Joyride Studios. The company has produced Halo, Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars and Halo Reach action figure sets. All the series produced by Halo only have four to five figures. Each Halo action figure has a serial number in it, designated on when it was created.
Another company producing Halo action figures is McFarlane Toys. It has produced few figures from Halo Wars, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo ODST. The company will also make the action figures from Halo: Reach in 2010.
The Halo action figures by McFarlane Toys come with new exciting features such as Halo Points, from which you can trade points with other owners to get Halo items. It now also comes with a removable armor. Action figures have multiplayer figurines with removable heads, shoulders and chest armor so one can interchange and customize the action figures to match the owner’s preferences.
There are various differences between Joyride and McFarlane. For one, McFarlane toys are considerably smaller and are merely 6 inches tall. However, sculpts are much more detailed, the trademark of McFarlane Toys. They have released far fewer lines than JoyRide, but each figure line includes more action figures. Joyride action figures appear to be better constructed and sturdy than McFarlane.
Whether you decide to purchase Halo figures from JoyRide or McFarlane Toys, it is best to do your research first. See if you prefer to buy figurines from JoyRide or the latter. Grow your collection into an impressive set of Halo figurines, as well as the additional accessories, weapons and armor that come with it.
