It is recommended that you pick the ones with smaller heads so that you will not have a hard time in applying the details. Some of the additional tools that you might also like to have are clamps, knives, dental picks and pliers. Lastly and definitely not the least tool that you should have with you is a sculpting material that will allow you to add details from the original action figure; some of the best brands for this purpose are Fix-It and Apoxie Sculpt. When you are about to begin with the customization, you have to clean the figurine first to be able to remove the oil and the molds that have accumulated. This is important because removing these unwanted particles will give you a much easier time in working with it. The rest is up to you if you want your figurines to have an additional pair of shoes or you just want to enhance the details in it.
Just as long as you let your imagination, creativity and love for figurines rule over you, even if you are just a beginner, you will not have hard time being successful with custom action figures.
