Your own personal Banshee

The Banshees were my favorite creatures in the movie, so I had to get this when I found it.
Pros: Very detailed, about a 13" wingspan, with beautiful markings. It comes with a nice stand, for when it's not flying about and terrorizing my... I mean, your family and friends. It seems pretty durable too, because it is made of a tough plastic like a bike helmet. It could probably withstand being dropped numerous times. The only parts that move are the neck and the head.
Cons: You do have to assemble it, so a little bit of patience is necessary. Once it's assembled though, it's staying that way. It's hard to make the Neytiri figure I have ride it, partially because the antennae-things get in the way.
I can't comment on the i-Tag, because I don't have a webcam and can't access it.
Despite being in college, I've been having a lot of fun actually playing with this. I suspended it from a stick with some fishing line and have been flying it around marionette-style, using it to buzz my pets and family. I plan on suspending it from my ceiling at college, so it can "fly" above my by bed while I sleep.
I've seen on the i-Tag website that there are plans to release Tsu'tey's Banshee as well. Because I like this one so much, I'd buy that as soon as it comes out. I hope they also make Neytiri's Banshee (it has nice markings). |

| My son just turned 3 so durability is definitely something I look for. This toy is fun to play with even for me and I'm 26! This is a great buy. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 10. |
Great Avatar figure

Being a collector of all things creature in the was or toys and figures, i was very excited for these Avatar creature action figures. This Banshee figure has a great mold showing detail (especially in the face) and lovely anatomy. The body has a almost entirely colored teal paint job is unexciting while the darker markings are wonderfully detailed. He is very poss-able (both sets of wing can be moved up and down) and comes with a clear display stand which hold him sturdily. However his mouth is stuck in a open position.
My only disappointment is the lack of a detailed paint job on the face. What looks to be a second set of smaller eyes behind the main ones are uncolored. So it's like they aren't even there! The teeth as well are the same color as the gums, while they are supposed to be black (as i saw in the trailer).
Great figure over all! |
Fun Toy But Misleading Description

| I just got the Avatar Banshee Creature and have it suspended from my shelf. It's a very durable, beautifully marked figure. Probably more appropriate for adults than small children although it snaps together tightly and is made of solid plastic so should withstand rough play. My only complaint is that I read the product description as saying the figure would have bioluminescence, however, this figure does not. The Avatar Jake Sully has bioluminescent dots but neither the Mountain Banshee nor the Leonopteryx have this. I think that the comment about bioluminescence refers to the Na'vi figures not the creatures but was left in for all product descriptions. I find this misleading but lack of bioluminescence doesn't detract from an otherwise fun and detailed toy. |

| This banshee from the film avatar is a great toy for kids and also a cool figure to own. the only problem i have with this toy is that it seems to be able to be broken easily and it is also difficult to snap on, but once it is all but together it seems very durable for a kid and it is very articulated for a collector |
